Sleeves are used on the payoff reel to adapt your current reel to different ID coils. Sleeves are used on the rewind reel to wind a sleeve to a specific diameter without damaging the coil with breaks and telescoping.

Universal Urethane offers composite urethane payoff and tension reel sleeves. The external wall is made of our Sure-grip high strength soft urethane that allows the tail of the sheet to reach a uniform depth equal to the sheet thickness for each corresponding wrap. This eliminates excessive scrap of inner-windings of your coil.

The sleeve is designed to fit your mandrel requirements and to increase the co-efficient of friction to improve the primary grip of the first wrap. This is especially important for oiled and highly surface critical sheets.

Our urethane sleeves can be made with bevels on the inside and outside diameters to help with sleeve and coil loading. In addition, holes can be added for mounting sleeve to mandrel to help prevent slippage and sleeve removal.
